OUR TEAM
H2O got off to a great start with hardworking and commited founding members.

It is understood that clean water is imperative to a healthful life, but most people who have it readily available take this indispensible resource for granted. Tragically, for all the advancements in our global society, millions of the world's population are still unable to access safe potable water. Reflecting on my own circumstances, I am humbled when I consider the lifestyle and convenience I am able to enjoy in contrast to those, whose communities lack even basic water sanitation. As a non-profit taking up this cause,Helping to Overcome's mission and focus resonates with me, and I know that by serving at this organization, I am part of a solution to the problem.

Dara Digerolamo- Public Relations

After living in Shanghai, China for a year – which is where I met H2O president, Gerald – I had been hit hard by the wanderlust travel bug and was craving more international adventure. Nothing enhances the human persona like international travel and I'll always jump at an opportunity to feed this desire. Needless to say, I was very excited when Gerald asked me to jump start H2O with him. I was, and still am, honored to say that I was one of the first H2O volunteers to venture to Uganda where we built a safe water well and installed bio-sand water filters in schools and establishments throughout Kanungu. There are so many people throughout the world with so many needs and this humbling experience morphed my level of tolerance with people in my country who will never know how great their situation is until it's gone. When I'm not traveling the world, I'm in Hollywood, California working to bring popular shows to your television.

Gerald Mbabazi- President

From Uganda and going to school in California. I was inspired to be a part of this great cause because of the need for clean water which I live through in Uganda. The hardship of walking to fetch water at the bottom of the valley in Kanungu are still vivid. Laundry is the worst for children who have to fetch water. I remember drinking unboiled water and getting diarrhea and missing school, tummy aches, runny nose and cough.  A lot can be done to change lives by building wells and proper filtration of water in schools. Very importantly schools need to have safe water to ensure healthy sanitation for all the children.

Katie Kremer- Vice President

I have been involved with H2O: Helping to Overcome, Inc since the organization's beginning. Gerald and I met by chance and quickly realized that our passions and career goals aligned and soon after registered H2O together in January of 2010. Gerald and I, along with the rest of the H2O team, raised enough funds to travel to Kanungu, Uganda and successfully complete a water sanitation project in June of 2010. Being involved with H2O and traveling to Uganda has made a enormous impact on my life. My experience has encouraged me to pursue my graduate degree in international relations and nonprofit management and fueled the fire within me for the nonprofit sector along with international needs. I hope to continue to be involved with the success and growth of H2O: Helping to Overcome, Inc.

Christoffer Berndtson: Based in Sweden

I've always wanted to do something with a greater purpose. The trip we took to Uganda in the summer of 2010 with H2O was a great experience.

I consider myself lucky to be able to just turn on the tap and have a glass of water when ever I like, never having to worry about being safe or not. Most people on earth are not that lucky. Water in my point of view is THE most essential thing in our everyday life and that is why I choose to work with H2O:Helping to Overcome, striving to give safe water to every one without it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more people experience what we did,it truly is life-changing and helps you appreciate and gain a healthy perspective on things in your life.

Sam Hu- Based in Australia,

I have always wanted to dedicate a good time of my life to needs of others. Clean water is taken for granted. I have travelled to a few countries where I could not drink the water but atleast I did not have to walk one mile to collect it, here in Australia where I am from, the absence of clean water is not an issue. H2O is a great organization which I am dedicating a lot of time to help give clean water and sanitation to the many millions who do not have any.
